Guests will walk along stone pathways and grassy areas,

therefore, we recommend avoiding stiletto or thin heels.

Is the wedding indoors/outdoors?

Our ceremony will take place inside St. Michael’s Catholic Church. Following the ceremony, Cocktail Hour will be held outdoors between the Woodlawn Wine Cottage and the Manor House, on a charming rock‑gravel surface—a beautiful spot to enjoy the views and mingle. The Dinner Reception will be held inside the Tidewater Barn, where we’ll celebrate the evening with dinner, dancing, and all the festivities.

What is the weather and climate in the area?

In Southern Maryland, early May typically brings mild to warm spring weather — daytime highs average in the low‑70s °F , while nights dip into the low‑50s °F. Expect a mix of sunshine and occasional showers, with moderate humidity.

Who is capturing our wedding day?

We are thrilled to have Jay and Jacqueline of Jax Photography capturing our wedding day through both photography and videography. Can we take photos during the ceremony?

We kindly ask that you refrain from taking photos or videos during our wedding ceremony. Jax Photography will be capturing every moment, and avoiding phones ensures they can do their best work without interference. After the ceremony, feel free to take photos throughout the celebration!

Will there be a photo booth?

Yes, visit the Photo Booth to capture a memorable moment and add your picture to the book — solo, as a pair, or with the whole crew, have some fun!!

Will alcohol be served/open bar?

Yes, there will be an open bar for guests to enjoy throughout the Cocktail Hour and Reception. Woodlawn follows the TAM® training guidelines: 1) alcohol is not permitted in the parking areas (this is also a St. Mary’s County regulation); 2) bartenders do not serve shots of alcohol at the bar or for toasts; and 3) bartenders reserve the right to refuse service.

Can food allergies be accommodated?

If you have any severe allergies that require special accommodation, please let us know in advance via the RSVP or contact us directly.

What food will be served during the wedding?

We are thrilled to have Bailey’s Catering, a local family-owned business for more than 30 years, providing our wedding menu. They’ll be serving a delicious selection throughout the evening, beginning with passed appetizers during Cocktail Hour and followed by a Southern Maryland–inspired buffet dinner. There will be a Raw Oyster Bar during cocktail hour—what can we expect?

Yes! We’re excited to offer a Raw Oyster Bar during cocktail hour, provided by Shore Thing Shellfish. They are a small, member‑owned and operated oyster farm in St. Mary’s County, Maryland, dedicated to producing high‑quality shellfish and offering exceptional oyster‑based services. Shore Thing will be shucking fresh oysters for guests to enjoy—a true taste of Southern Maryland’s waterfront heritage. Try them with cocktail sauce, a squeeze of lemon, or a touch of horseradish for the perfect bite.

What is the easiest way to get to/from the Church and Woodlawn. Will there be a shuttle to/from the hotel?

Your personal vehicle is the best way to travel to/from the Church and Woodlawn. The venues are in a rural area and taxi, Uber/Lyft services are NOT available. Unfortunately, we will NOT be able to provide transportation to and from the wedding venue for your convenience.
